In this unit we look at the how organisms inherit genetic information from their parents.
The unit is split into 3 parts…
  • In unit B1.1 we look at the structure of the cell and the how the DNA is organised inside the nucleus.
  • In unit B1.2 we look at patterns of inheritance based on dominant and recessive alleles.
  • In unit B1.3 we look at how our understanding of genetics has allowed us to develop gene technology including genetic testing and genetic engineering.
